Ashton Melton (BFA, 2024) is a New York City–based documentary photographer whose work centers on capturing the human experience through powerful storytelling. 

She is passionate about revealing the nuanced lives of individuals and communities, bringing to light stories that might otherwise remain unseen. Through her lens, Ashton seeks to create images that foster empathy, connection, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

Her work explores themes of resilience, identity, and the bonds that tie people together, using intimate and authentic approaches to portraiture and documentary photography. Recently, Ashton’s photography has been showcased on LensCulture, and she has just completed a photo exhibition at the Soho Photo Gallery’s Annual Portfolio Development Exhibition in New York City.
